Aunt Sherrey's Clam Dip




This dip is amazing!  Does not have a 'fishy' taste as I don't care for fish.  One bite and you will be hooked!

You will need cream cheese, Miracle Whip, lemon juice, worcestershire, onion powder, garlic powder, minced clams and the juice from the claims.


I made a double batch this time around to share with friends  but you can easily do a single batch too.  I will be providing the directions for a double batch.  First you will need 2-8oz packages of cream cheese (softened) and 12 rounded tablespoons (as seen above) of miracle whip.  Mix together first till well blended, you can use a hand mixer if you like - I do.

One you have your cream cheese and miracle whip mixed up you will add: 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon onion powder and 1 teaspoon garlic powder.  Mix very well.

Next are the clams, you will need around 16oz (make sure you save some of the juice they are in).  I usually can find chopped (seen above) but you want them smaller sized for the dip, more of a minced size.

I use my meat scissors to cut them up.  You can see the size difference from the other picture.

Add your claims and 2 teaspoons of the clam juice and mix well.  Once mixed taste , you may want to add a little more garlic, onion or lemon just depending on how the flavoring is for you.  I usually add just a dash more of garlic powder.

You will want to refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours before serving, blends the flavors together really well.

Best way to eat this dip is with good ol' Fritos Corn Chips!
