Cornbread made with Cream-Style Corn

You will need corn meal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, buttermilk, eggs, butter and can of cream corn.

You will want to use Corn Meal, not a Cornbread mix for this recipe.

You will first mix your dry ingredients; 2 cups corn meal, 1 cup flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon sugar.  Mix together and set aside.

In a separate bowl whisk together 1 cup buttermilk and 3 eggs.

Add to your buttermilk/egg mix - 4 tablespoons melted butter and 1-14.75/15oz can of cream corn, mix well.

Pour your liquid mixture to your dry mixture and mix well.

Pour or scoop your mixture into a greased 9x9 pan.

Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Let cool for about 10 minutes before cutting.

Slice up and serve with one of your favorite soups or stews or just with some butter!

Enjoy!!
